fuckyeahlatinamericanhistory: The Dyckman Oval in Manhattan’s Inwood neighborhood, once home to the New York Cubans baseball team, was demolished in the late 1930s and eventually replaced with a public housing project. The now-defunct New York Cubans would go on to win their one and only Negro Leagues title in 1947, with a team that included many star Cuban-born players, including Claro Duany, Minnie Miñoso, and Luis Tiant, Sr. I love my ‘hood. :)
